A major Australian university required a solution that would assist them in delivering their learning and teaching program across 3 campuses, and offshore in Malaysia. They required a flexible method of delivering content, as well as a scaleable solution to allow for additional teleteaching sessions in the future.

Solution
Vantage developed a virtual conferencing solution that enabled the university to run classes from lecture theatres to students located remotely, both nationally and internationally. The solution maintained the required levels of communication and interactivity as would usually occur in a classroom environment. By deploying 13 video conferencing systems across their multiple campuses, as well as a 12-port video conferencing bridge to facilitate multipoint conferencing, the University was able to run sessions that involved more than two parties at any one time. As well as attending lectures, students and university staff can view and collaborate on presentation material.

Benefits
Currently the university conducts over 1600 video conferences each year, which are supported by Vantage’s vCare Support Centre. Not only has video conferencing become an important component of the university’s strategy for flexible delivery of teaching and learning, it is also used extensively for cross campus committee and staff meetings, recruitment interviews, consultation, and research.
